We currently have opportunities for highly experienced Drug Discovery bioscientists with significant team management and leadership skills to join us in our continued growth and success.
The role
Working with innovative research companies from pharma and biotech to academic organisations from across the globe, you’ll apply and develop your superior knowledge of Drug Discovery at the cutting edge of scientific research to help our customers discover innovative medicines. As an Associate Director in the biosciences department you will be responsible for aiding in the management and the expansion of the department, leading teams, developing people, and shaping the strategic direction for a wide range of pre-clinical drug discovery activities including assay development, hit ID, and biology support for integrated hit to lead and lead optimisation programmes.
As an experienced Drug Discovery scientist, you should have:
- Demonstrated leadership skills with significant experience in line management, coaching, motivating, and developing your team.
- Extensive pre-clinical drug discovery experience in the CRO/biotech/pharmaceutical industry with a proven track record in advancing discovery projects
- Extensive knowledge and experience in current approaches used in assay development, molecular pharmacology and hit discovery in the support of drug discovery projects and a desire to identify new technologies and techniques and to integrate them into the departmental offering.
- An understanding of the importance of continuous improvement, and a proactive approach to gathering feedback for all stakeholders to help develop the scientific and business direction of the department.
- Experience of budget management and ensuring resources and finances are managed appropriately, including the timely identification of potential issues which are rapidly communicated with departmental leadership along with proposed solutions/mitigations.
- Excellent communication skills; open, engaging, and inspiring whilst working in a matrix environment.
- Capable of fully independent working or deputising for the Directors role as and when required.
